Product Details
I knit this shawl in honor of a little creature I love a lot, the monarch butterfly. It uses 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn (1 of each color), with brioche increases and decreases to make a pattern inspired by monarch wings. The monarch population has been struggling for many years and is critically endangered. Butterflies and bees are an integral part of our survival as a species. You can help when possible by not using pesticides, supporting organic agriculture, planting a pollinator garden, and letting milkweed (their only food source) grow.
