How to chain stitch (ch) in crochet

Calling all beginner crocheters! Welcome to the club – we’re super excited to have you on board. The chain stitch is the foundation of all crochet patterns and one that you’ll use time and time again. Once you’ve mastered this simple stitch, the crochet world is your oyster!
So, you’ve got your hook and a ball of yarn and your slip knot is in place. What’s next?

Yarn over, pull hook through 1 loop.

You should now have one loop on your crochet hook.
