Product Details
In southcentral Alaska, a Williwaw wind is a sudden wild gale that rolls off the mountains. As a kid I loved hiking to Williwaw Lakes up in the Chugach Mountains, and the motifs in this cowl represent the sub-alpine plants that grew along the trail: dwarf dogwood flowers, paperbark birches, and wild roses with big ruby rosehips. This cozy knit cowl embodies everything I love about living in the north.
The Williwaw Cowl is worked in the round with a provisional cast on and grafted at the end for a seamless finish. It features adjustable sizing, and you can embellish the grafted area with embroidery or duplicate stitch to add a personal touch and make the project truly yours.
