Product Details
The Socks of a Showgirl were inspired by The Life of a Showgirl album aesthetic. The lace motif at the top is based on the feather fans, and colours taken from the album cover.
Intermediate level, but suitable for a confident beginner who can knit in the round and increase/decrease - I have written or picture instructions for most techniques, but you may find watching a video useful if you have never worked the techniques before.
The socks are knitted from the cuff to the toes in the round. I use small circular needles, but you can use the magic loop method or DPNs based on your preference.
Techniques used: knitting in the round, decreasing using k2tog/k2togtbl/p2tog, increase using YO, picking up stitches, kitchener stitch (instructions included in pattern)
Materials needed: Any fingering weight sock yarn in two colours (35g/140m for size 2, 25cm sole), 2.25cm needles, three stitch markers, darning needle and optional shirring elastic for stretchier cuff
