Sirdar patterns are usually reliable. Not so with this one. The holes for the eyes are impossible to get looking neat. I am a very experienced knitter, but the way the pattern asks you to do the decreases for the eyes looks incredibly messy!!! I unpicked and did it again twice, but still no better. In the end, I abandoned it and started again. This time, I did the decreases and increases in ways to make the finish neat. On the batman hat of course this didn't show as much. The spiderman hat requires intarsia. This is fine, but it is very hard to keep an even tension carrying the black yarn along the reverse. Plus you can see the black from the right side, that is being carried along the back. Again I did it differently and put the 'web' on the hat by doing Swiss darning. Soooo much easier and neater. The sizes knit up small.
