Here at Stitchdoodles we are all about creativity. Sitchdoodles was created in 2019 after I was finding it difficult to find hand embroidery patterns that were exciting and a bit different from the usual. Wanting to combine our love of hand embroidery stitches, traditional sampler techniques as well as quilt designs(!) I decided to come up with something myself and it has evolved into an array of wonderful and colourful designs that will hopefully inspire and excite people to pick up a needle and get 'happy stitching’.

Night Before Christmas is inspired by the poem by Clement Clarke Moore ‘A Visit from St Nicholas’. It has been created to capture the magical time on Christmas night when all is ready and everyone is tucked up nice and quiet waiting for that special someone to come along and sprinkle some joy.

The Night Before Christmas Stitch Hand Embroidery Pattern is suitable for advanced beginners onwards. This pattern has featured as a live stitch a long on the blog and you can still benefit from all the tutorials and stitch the pattern yourself, even though the SAL has ended. The pattern details the floss and stitches I used in the example photo but feel free to make your own choices – it’s up to you! The design is approximately 8 x 10 inches.
