Calling all teachers...use this star appliqué to decorate cards to encourage your students, or any other item (such as a blanket, beanie, cushion cover, basket, or scarf).
Following the instructions in the written crochet pattern (in US terms, using 4 ply yarn, and a 3.00 mm crochet hook), this little star is about 6 cm in diameter, or 3 cm from middle to each point of star; however, adjusting the yarn weight and hook size will produce others of various sizes. The pattern calls for only a very small amount of yellow yarn (only approximately 1-2 m; each star weighs less than 1 g) - but of course, other colours would look beautiful, too!
The additional materials required are a darning needle, with which to weave in ends, and gel adhesive and paper card if choosing to make a star card (see below):
