Howdy y’all! Down here in Texas the weather is often hot and very sunny. When I go outside I can feel myself getting crispy from the sun. So, needless to say it’s hard to wear knitted or crocheted garments during the spring and summer time. That’s why I decided to wrestle me up some yarn from my stash and create my Southwestern Plains Bag for y’all. I wanted to make a bag that was affordable, simple but engaging, and whose materials are accessible in stores. This bag is great for beginners who want to dip their toes into color work. Because it’s crochet color work, maintaining tension is much more manageable than in knitting especially with long floats. Throughout the pattern I will guide you with pictures and video links.
All you’ll need to know is how to:
- Do waistcoat stitch (non-slanting version, linked in pattern)
- Change colors in crochet
- Pick up stitches
