Product Details
I have a very dear friend whose wife threw him a surprise party for his 50th birthday, and I decided to make him some spiffy socks for the occasion. He is excessively fond of loud tartan fabric, so I found the brightest sock yarn leftovers in my stash, and went hunting for plaid sock patterns. Unfortunately, the patterns I found were either not what I was looking for, or were completely unattainable. So I resolved to make up my own, inspired by the pictures of the socks I’d seen that I liked the best. I added a small Celtic-ish cable motif on the heel flap to jazz it up even more, and – tadah! – really fun gift socks. This pattern is fiddly and takes a lot of concentration because of all the intarsia it requires, but if you feel the end result is worth it, then you’ll like the payoff.
