Shawl Natalie's summer
The shawl was inspired by my mother-in-law and first version I made as a gift to her. It serves me and my daughters as reminder that even if we have different opinions we always can express love to other people.
Shawl is regular triangle knitted from the middle of longest side. The stitches are increased in each second row (4 each time: 2 in both sides of center spine stitch and 2 alongside each border), border is classically 3 garter stitches. The biggest part of shawl is stockinette, garter and simple eyelet lace and it ends with beautiful lace butterflies.
NOTE: the butterflies lace part is done without rest rows, the lace is formed in every row.
The shawl can be made from different yarn (worsted, sock, fingering) though it will affect the final size and yardage.
Final size of samples: Malabrigo Rios: 80cm (31.5’’) in depth, 160cm (63’’) in span. Laines du Nord Poema: 67cm (26.37’’) in depth, 137cm (53.93’’) in span.
The pattern contains both: charts and fully written instructions.
