Ressac, in French, is the movement of the waves when they come to an obstacle.
I have designed this pattern thinking about the back and forth movement of the waves in the sea. The reverse stockinette stitch lines are going progressively away from the cast on row, but at the end, the sea come to an obstacle and forms little waves and ripples.
This shawl is very simple and very pleasant at the same time.
It is available in 2 versions : small and bicolour, or big and in one colour. But it is not forbidden to make it small in one colour or big and bicolour…
- for the small bicolour shawl, you will need 250 meters / 275 yards of fingering yarn for main colour and 200 meters / 220 yards for contrasting colour,
- for the big unicolour shawl, you will need 800 meters / 880 yards of fingering yarn.
Let the Ressac rhythm rock you…
