Purl Stripe Dog Sweater

After our beloved miniature dachshund Lena passed, I lost my design muse, but now, 3 - 1/2 years later, my husband and I adopted 10-year-old Barney from a rescue organization! Barney is my new muse! With his help, I've designed this Textured Striped Sweater for Puppies and Small Dogs. Barney seems to love it! Well, at least he doesn't actually mind wearing it.

The pattern is very easy and suitable for beginners, using only knit and purl stitches. You can knit the front and back pieces on straight needles separately and seam them together, or opt to knit the body pieces on straight needles and join the stitches on double pointed needles to knit the turtleneck collar in the round. The ribbed sleeves are knit in the round, or you can opt to simply grab a crochet hook and do a few rounds of single crochet.

Designed for dogs with chest circumference of 12" to 18", length may be customized.
