Pearl Fairy Shawlette

The shawlette is knit bottom up, back and forth with increases in the sides to create a triangle shape. Sections are built from the middle outwards, one inside of the other, alternating seed stitck and reverse stockinette, with a running cable stitch inbetween them. As you build upward and outward, it becomes easy to see what happens where and when. When the desired size is reached, a lace border is knit sideways onto the lower sides and point, and the top edge is bound off with an icord. The way the shawlette is constructed makes is easy to add or subtract sections for a bigger or smaller piece, keeping in mind that a larger shawl takes more yarn than the given size.
