I prefer to join knitted pieces and reinforce edges with crochet, which produces durable seams and firm edges. This is optional. This sweater knits on smaller needles than is customary for this weight yarn. The tighter gauge results in a better fitting, longer lasting garment. Gauge (stockinette) is 5 1/2 st/in on US5.
