Product Details
Named Mairead, Irish for pearl, is this high-low vest adorned with Celtic cables crowned with an I-cord neckband. The sides are made with a triple selvedge, to make the longer back part lie flat. The vest is seamed with the neckband worked in the round. Mairead is knitted in the airy Norwegian combed wool yarn Ask from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk.
Yarn: Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk, Ask (100% wool, 315 m, 100 g).
Needles: 2 sets of 3.5 mm circular needle (80 cm, extra set for tuck). 3.5 mm circular needle (60 cm) for neckband.
Notions: Stitch markers (removable), cable needle, stitch holders and yarn needle.
Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows in st st using 3.5 mm needle measures 10 cm square after blocking. 2 cable repeats measure 10.5 cm across.
Notes: The vest is worked back and forth in separate pieces and seamed. The neckband is worked in the round.
