This pattern has been written as a Beginners guide to knitting a Set-in Sleeve garment. It includes detailed explanations of how to work shaping instructions and how to work short row shoulder shaping rather than casting off stitches for the shoulder slope if you prefer.
The pattern is worked at a standard DK yarn gauge so any DK weight yarn can be used as long as you have matched the gauge.
