Inspired by the middle of the year and the transition into and out of the summer season, these two distinctly different styles of shawl capture my favourite times of year. From the sweet frothy blossoms bursting out in spring to the last rays of golden light from the setting sun in the autumn, a few changes to the design create a look as difference as the two book ends of summer.

1250m/1360yds (total) of 4ply cotton, linen or silk blend wool:
Yarn A - 750m/816yds
Yarn B, C, D & E - 125m/136yds
Yarn - Golden Summer
2 skeins of 4ply/fingering weight yarn in a silk blend wool:
Yarn A - 400m/437yds (shawl stripes and edging)
