The ELSA hat was created following the discovery of these rather particular ribs taken from the book ‘’ 250 Japanese knitting stitches ‘’ and which were a favorite for me.
The ELSA hat is knitted from the bottom up. The stitch is done using a cable needle. The pattern comes with charts and written explanations. Two sizes are available : Size M = 14,5’’/ 37.5 cm unstretched ribs Size L = 17,5’’/ 45 cm unstretched ribs To be worn with negative ease of about 6-8’’/15-20 cm
MATERIALS : • Suggested yarn : BASIQUE by Colorista, worsted weight, 100% merino wool (115 g/202 yds per skein) : 1 skein • Circular needles US 7 • Cable needle • Stitch marker
GAUGE : 32 stitches and 35 rows = 4’’ in fancy ribs (un-stretched), with needles US 7.
