Product Details
Cowl with death head hawk moth motif (known from the movie silence of the lambs) knitted in the round. You begin with a ribbed cuff. Then knit the mysterious death head hawk moth pattern in fairisle technique with two contrasting colours.
Materials:
You need DK Yarn in two contrasting colours. Gauge of 22 stitches by 27 rounds (per 4”/10cm) for colour work in stockinette in the round after blocking. You will need about 220m in main colour and 115m in contrasting colour. For the swatch in reverse colour scheme, you need another 25m in main colour and 50m in contrasting colour (per piece).
Size
Finished size of the cowl, when measured flat after blocking (width x height): 12.5”/32cm x 9.5’’/24cm without ribbing or 13’’/32cm with ribbing.
Circumference of the cowl, when measured in the round after blocking: 25”/64cm
Variation:
Sport weight yarn with a gauge of 24 stitches per 4’’/10cm: the cowl will be shorter and tighter, with a diameter of approximately 23’’/58cm.
