Product Details
The Christmas Tree Gift Bag is designed to hold a standard size gift card (or a small gift). It is knitted in the round with acrylic worsted yarn on US Size 7 / 4.5 mm double-pointed needles. The main color (I used greens and an acrylic worsted white combined with long eyelash yarn) requires approximately 100 yards/92 m. Remnant amounts of brown yarn are needed for the tree’s trunk. Washers give the tree’s trunk its shape and a weighted base.
A picot bind-off using US Size 1 / 2.25 mm double-pointed needles provides the lovely finished edge that’s easy to open and close. Remnant amounts of yellow (or red if knitting a white tree) complete this topper.
Tissue paper (and your gift) fills out the tree’s shape. You decorate it with beads, charms, gems, yarn, or ribbon to make it unique. Add a foam star attached to a pipe cleaner or stick, or a tasty star lollipop to complete the Christmas Tree Gift Bag.
