Product Details
Alfred hat with ribbed edge is a warm and cosy winter hat in same pattern as Nordavind mittens. Yarn used to knit the pictured hat is Sandnes Smart. Other wool yarn of same weight can also be used, ex. Cascade 200.
Feel free to choose suggested yarn and colours or use your favorite DK yarn and create a unique color combination.
Needle sizes used in the pattern are suggestions only. Control the gauge by knitting a test swatch. If the test swatch has fewer stitches in 10 cm than stated gauge, reduce the needle size. If the test swatch has more stitches, increase the needle size.
The pattern comes in one size. Unaltered, size is around 58-60, but can be changed by going up or down a needle size. For a longer or shorter hat, the rib can be knitted longer or shorter. The pattern itself can also be knitted longer or shorter. This way, the hat will be able to fit most sizes.
The hat measures 23 cm from top to bottom with the rib double folded and 25 cm across when laid flat.

- It is adviced to knit a gauge swatch. If the swatch has more stitches in 10 cm than stated gauge, change to bigger needles and vice versa.
