This is a lovely knitting pattern to make a hat for a new baby. The hat will fit newborn or up to 3 months depending on the size of the baby.
The beanie hat is knit with dk yarn - you will need approx 25g of two colours. The yarn shown in the photo is Sirdar Snuggly Cashmere Merino. You will also need a pair each of 3.5 and 4mm knitting needles. This baby beanie hat is a flat knit knitting pattern, with the back seam sewn up at the end.
The two colours look so lovely together, and the pattern (an easy slip stitch method) is a vintage stitch. You can make the hat look vintage, like the off white and subtle lavender shown, or modern and funky, whatever you prefer.
As you can see from the item photos, this baby hat also looks super cute finished with pompoms.
