Other : The face took 3 attempts at buttons and placement and 4 different shades of pink for nose before I was happy with the way she looked. The ears I couldn’t find a cream to compliment the natural shades of hardwood forest so used Toy.
Oh she is absolutely perfect Jacquie, look at her gorgeous wee face and that outfit is to die for. It sounds like you are having fun with her book,I love the toys and outfits in it too.😊
Love these animals. Your hare is gorgeous Jacquie. I’m just on my first one of these. Also had the book for ages. Really enjoying making the pig 🤣 for a special friend. 😊
@Jacquie W: Did you mean for the pig or for the dress Jacquie? I used the Scheepjes yarn as given in the pattern for the pig, but the dress I hoped to do in a deep ‘cerise’ type pink only the ball I started using was much too small I discovered. I have ended up making the Mouse outfit for the pig instead as I had more suitable colours. I’m now concerned that I won’t have enough to make the shoes as well. 😅
@Jacquie W: Very wise Jacquie. I think I should catalogue my stash so I know whether or not I need to buy new when I’m planning a project. I often find things once it’s too late. 😲
Really adorable Jacqui! Love Bloo getting in on the act too :))) I'm feeling inspired to look at this book, are they straightforward knits, or more advanced?
Thank you Mary. My gorgeous Bloo likes to participate 🤣. You do have to concentrate but actually very straightforward patterns. Mainly straight needles. Even the clothes in round could easily be seamed but I find it easy to use dpns to knit them. Less sewing.
@Jacquie W: Thanks Jacqui, I really need to have a go at upping my game. I'm going to read up on dpns technique which might work better for me. I've been avoidant over magic loop :) I love these gorgeous little knits every time I see them. I'm sure they must be fun to make, and perfect for little gifts x
@Mary B: they are great. Magic loop I find too fiddly for very small numbers of stitches. Honestly, dpns so easy. Your only ever knitting on two needles. You’ll get it no problem 😊
@Jacquie W: Exactly Jacqui, the only times I've tried are on tiny items such as baby knit sleeves, it's way too fiddly and frustrating, so I've abandoned it. I'm going to try dpns instead, any reduction to sewing up can only be a good move :)))) Thanks so much x
@Mary_B: just finished the owl. Trousers so much easier on dpns. The trick is to pull quite hard when you switch needles to prevent a gap. I find it very therapeutic love using them for socks. It’s mesmerising 😊
