    About

Started knitting squares in double knitting wool firstly in blue, then added other colours, lemon, grey , caramel etc. Made this blanket little blanket that can be used as a pushchair blanket, or car seat cover, or even a pet blanket! I ended up crocheting the squares together and crocheting a border around the edges of the blanket just to give it a final finishing touch.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Crochet Hook 4.00mm (US 6)
    • Crochet Hook 3.00mm (US 2.5)
    • Single Point 4.00mm (US 6) 40cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
Other : Now I used the 3mm crochet hook to join the squares together, then used the larger 4mm crochet hook to do the border.

    Measurements

Notes: I started each square with three stitches and increased one stitch per row until there was thirty stitches on the needle, then I decreased Ione stitch per row until I had three stitches, then I slipped one stitch, knitted two stitches together, then passed first stitch over finishing off .

Thankyou Caroline J x, it’s just made from left over bits of wool that I had in my cupboard, waste not want not, I seem to have a lot of it ! I’ve been knitting and crocheting blankets this last wee while, just back from dropping some off at the vets, to use in their animal cages. My way of giving something back for looking after our pets 😊

Thankyou Michelle, I tried sewing them first but they didn’t look right, so that’s why I crocheted them but I wasn’t sure. It seemed like a good idea at the time 😊. And no , I’m no where near the bottom of my stash cupboard, honestly it’s like a bottomless hole, there is four boxes of mixed colours plus two drawer units with little balls that came free with magazines! Could be knitting for a long time to come!! And my husband had the cheek to complain that I bought wool the other day !!! 😂
