I went on a family trip to Kerry, Ireland and I think it started a sheep obsession with my sisters. I worked up a chunky version of a sheep pattern featured by many designers e.g. Donna Smith's Baa-ble Hat and DROPS' Sheep Happens! Cardigan. I've seen many free patterns out there too so I will drop some photos here for inspiration, but let you decide where you want to go!
For chunky yarn, pick up 2x balls of contrasting/complementary colours. I went with Paintbox Yarns' 100% acrylic. You can pick white and black from the same brand but for fluffier sheep, I picked PB's Chenille Chunky yarn in white. I picked up a black yarn by another brand only because PB was out of stock on the day, but as it's needed for colour work outside of the sheep body I have no regrets :)
For floats, I typically catch after every 3rd. I realised very early that chenille can come apart quickly if tugged too hard, so work with a relaxed tension and catch more often if preferred!
