My sister works about 80 hours a week and this project was too complicated for her to knit during meetings. She had the yarn and the pattern and gave them to me at Christmas so I could make the shawl for her as a present. This used two gradient color skeins and one solid purple one for the border. Both gradient skeins go from yellow ochre to purple, you alternate the gradient skeins every other row, so you get twice the length of each color, making a gorgeous transition. It's a pretty pattern, and was a good choice to knit at the beginning of 2021 when things were in such an uproar. It gave me something to really concentrate on! I had to pay attention to the lace, so I didn't have as much time to worry about the end of the universe and so on.
I added two "wedges" to make it a bit more than a half circle, this fits around the shoulders better, my sister really likes the way it fits, it doesn't slide off. I did the beading, and it looks lovely but doesn't show up in the photos.
