    About

This was my first venture into the world of quilting (a six session course at my local fabric shop) and now I'm hooked! However, it was started over a year ago and finishing the binding/hand sewing is not my strong point! 🤣
With the local show looming and so little left to do, a final push and I finished it with a third place 🥉 in the quilting/embroidery/felting class!
Still got a lot to learn but I'm loving it! I've also come to realise that I prefer making the pieced patchwork top to the quilting! 🥴

Thank you Joan, I've used it a lot as a lap quilt 😁

Thank you Helen. I think it was quilting, embroidery
and felting so quite a mixed range. My quilt is certainly getting a lot of use in the cold evenings! 😁

It’s fantastic Jennifer. 🤩 And congratulations on your 3rd place. So good that your local show has a class specifically for quilting. 🥰 I would have entered my Flora and Fauna mosaic crochet blanket into our show but there’s no crochet class! It has to go into the ‘soft article’ one and therefore competes with the embroidery and quilting.

Beautiful quilt work Jane another amazing craft that you now have to enjoy. Each of the panels are so interesting to look at and I’m trying to imagine how you did it and chose the colouring so carefully it’s lovely. Congratulations for entering craft competition and winning 3rd 🥉 😍

Thank you Maria. I actually chose the fabrics to blend with our living room colours but I've heard that you need to think about lights, mediums and darks to get a balanced effect. Not sure I got it quite right and when I sat next to someone on the course and saw theirs, I did get colour envy! 😆

This is beautiful. I learned to quilt in Canada and my first pieced quilt is still in use 45 years on 😂😂

Wow, that's amazing! Do you hand or machine wash it?

@Jane M: I threw it in the machine on a short cool wash and it survived 🥰

But when would I fit it in???
