    About

Somebody in my knit group was doing a baby blanket in this method, so I thought - why not go big! 115,000 stitches later I have a blanket which will definitely get used. Tip - best to start this mid-summer, and not, like me, in October. You start off whizzing through the strips, but the final round is still 25% of the total!

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 5.00mm (US 8) 100cm
    • Single Point 5.00mm (US 8) 33cm

    Measurements

Notes: Ended up 5ftx5ft. Pattern had narrower outside strips (24 rows) but I had lots of yarn left (the pattern used 200gms balls) so increased to 40 rows to match the rest of the blanket. Used 168gms Washed Teal, 207gms Stormy Grey, 233gms Jewel, 230gms Slate Grey & 510gms Midnight.
Used straights while strips were up to 140 stitches then swapped to 100cm circular (knit flat) for the remainder.
