    About

When I design something new, I like to see how versatile I can make the finished piece. For me, a knit is something that brings colour and texture to your wardrobe as well as warmth. THis tank top was an exploration of how I could b=create something that would work across all seasons by switching up the yarns and including and option to make sleeves. The aran weight yarn choice gave me lots of options for summer and winter yarns. I opted for Yarn and Colors Epic for the summer version mainly because it is a super affordable yarn and it comes in lots of colours. It knitted up quickly and the stitch definition was excellent. For the sleeved version I used the shade Ecru and added dark blue and yellow stripes to the hem and cuff ribbing, giving it a real cricket sweater vibe. The winter version, which is just completed used Rowan Felted Tweed Aran, one of my personal favourites. It knitted beautifully, with a slightly tighter tension than the cotton version, not enough to affect sizing.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 5.00mm (US 8) 33cm
    • Circular 5.00mm (US 8) 40cm
    • Single Point 5.50mm (US 9) 33cm

    Accessories

Other : I decided to use a circular 5mm needle to complete the neckband, mainly because I joined both of the shoulder seams before finishing. But this turned out well, I got a nice even finish and no extra sewing.

    Measurements

Notes: I made no adjustments to the pattern for both versions, the felted tweed stayed true to size with wear. The cotton version experienced some give with wear, but this was a good thing as it was a nice relaxed fit for the summer and perfect for wearing alone.
