    So far I've hidden most of my granny squares inside bags because my corners end up distorted. I was hoping if I made this one carefully it would not distort but it's still doing it so I'm going to see if there are any tips on the internet to reduce this.

      Are you a tight crocheter? 5.50 mm seems rather large for a DK yarn, try a smaller hook. Are you chaining between clusters? If so, try it without chaining (except for the corner). Standard granny square instructions say to 'cluster - chain 2 - cluster' in the corner chain space of the previous row. Try making your corner with only 1 chain between the corner clusters. However, only make one change at a time so that you can see the effect of that change.
