    About

Bought this lovely Aran wool so I dug out this pattern to knit this cardigan. It’s a simple pattern only six rows to the pattern so it’s easy to remember. I’ve picked a nice pale gray this time so it can be either boy or girl and bright buttons too.

Thankyou Linzi x, it was an idea I picked up from the lady in the local gift shop, I used to rent shelf space and sell some of my cardigans in the shop and she said on the plain cardigans try putting multi-coloured buttons that way they would appeal to either sex of baby! So that’s why I’ve carried on the theme of buttons x

Loving this cardigan Alison. Great idea adding different coloured buttons when you don't know the sex of the baby. Thanks for the tip 😘

Thankyou P C x, I started using different coloured buttons a while ago for one of my friends babies, she didn’t know the sex of her baby- and it was such a hit with her and her family, now every time I knit baby cardigans I put bright coloured buttons on to them 😊

I did too Jennifer, I tend to get the things done that need to be done then sit down late morning - early afternoon and start knitting. As long as I make cups of tea and feed the dog everyone is happy 😊

Thankyou Jacqueline W, yes I have lots of fun looking for buttons, I have a jar to keep them in which I tip out then it’s a case of picking which I think look best, usually half of them end up on the floor 😊

Thankyou Milan D, yes I like the soft gray too, a change from white and cream. The buttons are a fun thing, brightens up the cardigans, especially if we don’t know the sex of the baby 😊

Thankyou Twinkletoes, it all started because I didn’t have enough of one colour of buttons one time and it has snowballed since then. One of my friends asks now for her baby cardigans to have bright coloured buttons 😊

Lovely little jacket. I like using different buttons too. Fun and uses up odds and ends rather than wasting them😊. Your grandchild will look great in this.

very cute. Great job with the collar, front placket and buttons. The light gray is a nice neutral color and the buttons pop!

Thankyou Sandra A, I sat for ages picking the buttons, as we don’t know the sex of the baby I’m trying to cover both eventualities, well that’s my excuse 😊

Thankyou Jennifer, I’ve just got a new batch of wool so there is no stopping me, I’ve also stopped working so given the two knitting wins every time, no housework being done 😂

I feel guilty if I sit and knit during the day. I know it is silly.
