Pirate Captain Octopus
Arr! Shiver me timbers, raise the Jolly Roger and yo-ho-ho! It’s Pirate Captain Octopus, the cuddliest octopus in the seven seas.
Note that this octopus is knitted in the round to minimise seaming. This is an easier toy knit if you are new to knitting toys in the round or want a bit of practice. I knit in the round using a circular needle and magic loop as I find this easier, but you can knit on a set of DPNs if you prefer.
- The octopus is 28cm tall (including hat with legs pointing downwards).
- All octopus and hat pieces are knitted in the round on DPNs or circular needle if you prefer magic loop.
- The eye patch is knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles.
- You will need to know how to cast on and off, knit, purl, work increases and decreases, and a little sewing together to finish.
