Product Details
My Zen Garden was first published as Fukinsei shawl in Wabisabi: The beauty of artisanally made yarns by Nomad noos in 2021. The sub-theme that I was attributed was fukinsei, irregularity, one of the aspects of the Japanese aesthetic wabisabi.
Wabisabi inevitably brings to mind landscapes seen in Kyoto, old capital of Japan, and in particular the Zen garden of Ryoan-ji temple and its raked gravel representing wavelets.
Like real waves which look regular though none are identical, I drew the waves rather freely, but they are worked, following a regular principle. I hope you get familiar with the stitch to the extent that you can hear the murmuring of water.
