Zebra Hat

Hat with a fixed cuff in a zebra pattern for DK yarn.

Five sizes: 52/54, 54/56, 56/58, 58/60, or 60/62.

These sizes correspond to standard adult hat sizes XS to XL.

XS may also fit teenagers.

The hat is suitable for beginners in stranded knitting; the floats have a maximum of 6 stitches, usually significantly less.

The most common knitting techniques are described and explained. Video tutorials explain two less popular methods.

Materials:

1. You need DK Yarn in two contrasting colours.
2. Gauge of 22 stitches by 27 rounds (per 4”/ 10cm) for colourwork in stockinette in the round after blocking.
3. You will need up to 190m of the main colour and 75m of the contrast colour.
4. A circular knitting needle in size US 3­-6 / 3­-4 mm for the solid coloured part and another one in US 3­-7 / 3.25­-4.25 for the colourwork
5. stitch wire, BOR marker, 3 stitch markers
