Bulky yarn, modern asymmetrical shape and irregular Garter Stitch Stripes make this shawl an exciting knitting project fun to work. The name WINTERTAGE means winter days in German and describes the mood of the design.
The shawl is worked flat from the acute angle to the opposite side with increases on one edge only. The irregular change between Stockinette Stitch and stripes of Garter Stitch are fun to work without getting bored of simple stitch patterns. The edges are worked in Garter Stitch.
Two sizes are available – size 1 (156 cm / 61½'' wingspan and 68 cm / 26¾'' depth) & size 2 (192 cm / 75½'' wingspan and 87 cm / 34½'' depth). Beside different dimensions of both size versions there is also a small difference in Garter Stitch Stripes positions to achieve a harmonic appearance of the pattern.
Following basic knitting techniques are needed: Long Tail Cast On / Knitting and purling stitches / Working a Yarn Over / Cast Off.
