Winter Fun Mosaic Square - Christmas Tree

This pattern is for a mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

You will need 2 colors of yarn - one for the background and one for the tree. I used a variegated green for the tree & a solid cream for the background, however you could use variegated yarn for the background, or use 2-3 colors of yarn to create a striped or gradient background.

The sample image features an optional crocheted star in gold, as well as optional French knots embroidered in red. If you want to add these you can use a small amount of scrap yarn. Instructions include how I made the star.

For projects using 2 colors, (one for the background & one for the featured design), you will need approximately 2 oz of each color for a worsted or aran (wt 4) type of yarn.
