Vectis Mittens

I love mittens, they are warm, cosy and comfortable, and they bring back wonderful childhood memories of snowball throwing and gathering up autumn leaves. Vectis is adorned with a beautiful Celtic inspired cable design, turning fabulously easy to make mittens into something very special. They look equally lovely in soft heathers or plain dyed yarns. The easy to work, gusseted thumb, provides a comfy fit and adds a professional finishing touch and I also show you how to turn the same pattern into a pair of convertible mittens. Worked in Aran/Worsted weight yarn means they make up quickly and are great for gift giving. Vectis is one of the original names for the Isle of Wight where I reside, a beautiful island which provides the inspiration for many of my designs.

Designed with negative ease for a snug and cosy fit. Medium (Will fit most teens/Adult Women) Using size 5.00 mm needles will produce a larger size but please note this has not been tested and more yarn will be required.

Worked from the cuff upwards and in the round. The thumbs are then completed also in the round so there are no seams to be sewn. A little stitching is required for the convertible version but is very easy.
