The Talvine (Estonian for Wintery) cowl is a warm and squishy winter accessory, inspired by traditional Nordic motifs. Instead of stranded colourwork, the cowl is worked in mosaic knitting technique carrying just one strand of the yarn at a time. The sample is long enough to be worn as a snood/hood if needed.
The cowl is knitted in rounds. The width and length can be easily adjusted, working more or fewer repeats/motifs. The sample is ten repeats wide and six repeats high. The pattern uses metric and imperial systems. The mosaic pattern is charted and written.
One motif: 7.25 x 7.25 cm / 2⅞ x 2⅞”
Measurements of the sample: Circumference 72 cm / 28¼” Height (with ribbings) 47 cm / 18½”
The size can be adjusted by working more or fewer repeats.
