Summer In Florence

While these photos were not taken in Florence, the idea and inspiration for this shawl came to me while spending a month in Florence this past summer. Watching the sunset over bridges of Florence, in hues of orange and violet inspired me to create an elegant lacey shawl that can be draped over the shoulders in the cool evenings or when entering air conditioned spaces in the summertime. The Kid Silk Lace creates a luxurious halo alongside the matching colors of the smooth merino. This crescent shaped shawl begins with a few stitches cast on at the neck edge and grows with satisfying speed at the rate of six increases every other row.
