The design Sügis (Estonian for “autumn”) combines traditional Estonian stitch patterns with a modern look.
The sweater is worked seamlessly in rounds in one piece from the top-down using elements of the contiguous method. Additional body increases are worked in the upper body to improve the fit. The stranded section is framed by Latvian braids.
The pattern provides optional bust darts for those of you who are on the busty side.
After the sleeves are divided, the lower body is continued with pleats in the middle of front and back, and then it is worked straight down. (The pattern provides also instructions to work the sweater without pleats.)
The hi-lo hem is worked using short rows. Sleeves and body feature another small stranded pattern before the ribbing.
