This shawl is a "choose your own adventure" type of pattern, which features a slight crescent shape and a pretty cabled edging.
You can choose any yarn and work with any needle size that is suitable for your yarn. Simply make a fabric that drapes the way you like, then follow the directions in the pattern to complete the shawl of your dreams.
The pattern begins with the cabled edging, worked from three different charts, which are presented in both charted and written formats. Once the edging is the right length, (suggestions for length are made in the pattern), you pick up for the shawl body along a yarn over edge which makes the pick up extremely easy. With short rows worked in garter stitch, the shawl body works up quickly and easily.
If you choose a bulky yarn, this shawl is a cozy, warm wrap for the cold winters, but in a fingering or lace weight, it can be a light layer over spring dresses.
