This bulky-knit hat uses a simple repeating slip-stitch pattern that enhances the beautiful color of a variegated yarn. The slipped stitches are crossed every few rounds, creating longer strands of yarn that highlight the variegation. The pattern begins with a mistake-rib pattern that seamlessly flows into the slip-stitch design and, when the body of the hat is complete, stitches are quickly decreased to create a gathered crown.
