This design inspiration came from my sister’s dog, also called Rusty. I have this image of him as a puppy looking up at me with big dark eyes and ears all over the place just begging to be played with. I knew I wanted my amigurumi puppy to have that same emotion. I wanted big paws, big eyes and mad floppy ears. Once I’d figured out a way to combine stitching and crochet to get those lovely big paws the design came together quite simply. My favourite part was finally sewing his ears into place and watching him come alive.
