Ready for Summer Pillow

This pillow consists of 3D flower granny squares. I made this pillow during the winter when there was snow on the ground, and I was dreaming of some nice weather! One of my favorite yarns right now is Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6 in the shade old rose (it’s the light pink), so I wanted to make a flower pillow with it. I used two balls of each of the following colors: old rose, sage green, and apricot. Additionally, you will need a 14 by 14 in (35 by 35 cm) pillow insert and 5 buttons (1.5 cm in diameter). The buttons allow the pillowcase to be taken on and off of the pillow insert.

While Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6 is labeled as sport, it reminds me of many of the dk weight yarns that I use. Yarn weights can vary among brands, so if you would like to use a different yarn, I would suggest using a dk weight yarn and making a gauge swatch (18 sts and 8 rows = 4 inches; work U.S. double crochet sts in rows). A good substitute would Paintbox Cotton DK. I hope you enjoy the pattern!
