Rainbow Tortoise

This pattern makes a sweet little toy, or use your Rainbow Tortoise as a colourful pincushion. This pattern incorporates short rows to shape the shell, and picking up and knitting stitches along an edge. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the tortoise is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
