The POMME DE PIN (pine cone) hat is perfect for the chilly : its ribbed edge is in double thickness to keep the ears warm. The stitch is easy to knit. It is available in several sizes to satisfy the whole family. For the double thickness ribbing, I explain 3 different methods: one for beginners with a normal cast on, and the other two with a provisional cast on.
