PAULS trousers are all-season trousers with a wide waistband. They are knitted from top to bottom. Start with the trouser waistband in a ribbing. For sizes 74/80 and up, there will be a sewn-in elastic band and the decoration with three buttons. I don't think this is necessary for the smaller sizes, as the little ones are not yet so mobile. The waistband in sizes 50/56 and 62/68 reaches also a little higher so that the newborn/baby's whole tummy is covered. This keeps the tummy warm and the waistband can also be used to place a grape seed pillow on the little darling's tummy in case of tummy ache, for example.
In the nappy area you work with “german short rows” to generate more width (this is explained in detail). Here the instructions distinguish between two versions. The standard version is intended for babies/children who wear normal nappies (or no more). The reusable nappy version is designed wider so that a reusable nappy bottom fits in there too.
