The pattern is mainly worked in continuous rounds, unless otherwise stated, so you will need to use st markers to help you keep track of your st count. The legs, body and head are all worked in one piece from the bottom up, and then the wings, beak, tail and feet are crocheted separately.

While the stitches themselves are all fairly basic, there is a fair bit of colourwork involved so maintaining good tension and keeping your stitches from twisting too much is important. This pattern is therefore most suitable for intermediate crocheters.
