Never Without Cardi

This cardigan, intended to be worn open, is the most worn piece in have. My first prototype has been knitted bottom up but with transferring it into top-down knitting there are so many options, I like to give to you with this pattern.

One gauge but different yarns, or yarn combinations, more or less deep V neck, one color or a striped version, knitted as jacket or long cardigan. The ¾ sleeves are wide, having a tulip-shape, but if you like more fitted sleeves, you will get hints how to knit them.

Starting at the back, knitting to desired arm depth, placing stitches on hold and working both fronts individually with a V-neck shape. After joining all parts some decreases are worked below the arms and then it is just smooth knitting to desired length, ending optimal with a 1/1ribbing or binding off directly. The final tough is the double-knit border which gives the cardigan its final shape.
