Mermaid blankets are not just for little kids, according to my college-age daughter! :)
This Mermaid Blanket is built for an adult to snuggle up in. The blanket is a generous 5'2" long from the cast on edge to the beginning of the tail. It's knit with the Figure 8 cast on and stitch. The pattern has step by step instructions and a diagram to teach even the novice loom knitter how to cast on and knit in this stitch pattern.
The Mermaid Blanket is knit on a 3/4" gauge infinity loom with a minimum of 90 pegs. It uses approximately 15 skeins (950 yards) of a super bulky (#6) weight yarn. Lion Brand's Hometown USA in the Key Largo Tweed colorway was used in the sample.
This pattern is suitable for a confident, advanced beginner.
